RE05090 - Mechanical Replacement MTC

Tender description

The works comprise the replacement of Mechanical installations to various sites. Although the detailed design requirements to each site will be released post tender, the following works are likely to be included within the overall programme: removing redundant installations, hot and cold water installations, boiler replacement, new heating pipework, radiators, pumps, convectors and associated electrical and builder's work. This list is not exhaustive and the scope of works required to each location will be issued post tender. The sites will be issued to the Contractor individually, based on a works order. The Contractor will be provided with a detailed design and will be required to submit a price for these works, based on the design and any requirements or restrictions imposed by the Contract Administrator. The price will be based on the schedule of rates with approximate quantities tender document, which will include items of work that are likely to be required throughout the overall replacement programme. The submitted price will be scrutinized by the Quantity Surveyor and subject to overall approval by the Contract Administrator, and will be adjusted to reflect any variations instructed during the works. The form of Contract will provide maximum flexibility to the client and the Contractor will be expected to fully engage with the client's consultants to ensure orders are priced and programmed efficiently. The Contract will cover 58 weeks, however the Employer may extend this period by a maximum of 24 months (12 month instalments), should sufficient funding be available.
