Tender description

The Conflict, Humanitarian and Security Department of the Department for International Development require a supplier to provide them with access to the range and quantity of pharmaceuticals listed in appendix B. For the duration of the Contract, the Contractor will be entitled to declare themselves a partner to DFID and shall be entitled to use the UK Aid logo, according to the Standards for use of the UK Aid logo, which will be shared upon contract finalisation. The Goods are required to augment the UK Government's Emergency Medical Team's (EMT) deployment capability in response to humanitarian emergencies in order to help lessen the local healthcare burden during such responses. As such, the goods would be required to be delivered to a named destination within a 8 (or 12 hours) of receipt of a Deployment Request Form from CHASE. The ability to carry out a full supply of goods will then be required to be restored within 28 days from supply. The Emergency Medical Team deploy with either a ‘Type 1 Outpatient Emergency Care’ clinic or a larger ‘Type 2 Inpatient Surgical Emergency Care’ module of goods, depending on the nature of the response. For these modules, there are 2 main drug lists; an ‘EMT Type 1’ list and an ‘EMT Type 2’ list. In the attachments provided, these include multiple ‘tabs’, all of which are expected to be provided. At the time of call-off, either a Type 1 or Type 2 drug list will be requested. The contractor is expected to be able to respond to either request at any time. Each ‘tab’ on each list of goods is expected to be packed separately, and the main tab of the ‘Type 1’ or ‘Type 2’ lists require a ‘3-day requirement’ portion to be packed separately. In addition, smaller ad-hoc ‘additional’ requirements for pharmaceuticals will be contracted outside of the ‘alternating’ arrangement, via mini-competitions based on price and lead-time.
