Tender description
The Home Office is considering advertising an exciting opportunity to provide Office 365 implementation services for the Home Office for up to 30,000 end users. The Home Office currently has in place a single service provider contract that covers all aspects of Home Office’s core IT and telephony; from end user devices and the core enterprise computing stack, to the service management, support and ongoing maintenance of these capabilities. The Home Office is seeking to change its approach to the provision of core IT and telephony services and the End User Compute (EUC) Programme is one aspect of this strategic change. The EUC Programme will put in place an all-encompassing set of IT capabilities and services by transitioning the Home Office to a disaggregated EUC infrastructure. The EUC Programme will separately procure different aspects of the EUC infrastructure and support services, thereby establishing a multi-supplier delivery environment. One aspect of this programme is that the Home Office requires a cloud-based productivity suite for all end users, including productivity applications, collaborative functions and end user storage for Windows laptop, Windows tablet, mobile devices, thick client and thin client end user devices. The platform selected by the Home Office is Microsoft’s Office 365. The components required of the solution are: • Microsoft Office Productivity Suite • Exchange Online • Skype for Business • SharePoint Online • eDiscovery • OneDrive for Business In addition to the above, the Home Office requires a mailbox migration within a constrained timescale. Current estimates are that services will be required up to a value of £3m in total. The Home Office wishes to inform and refine its approach prior to the procurement stage, and to this end, it is keen to seek the views of suitably experienced and qualified service providers. The intention is to hold exploration meetings with potential suppliers, most likely in London, within the coming weeks. If your organisation might be interested in delivering this service, and would like to assist the Home Office in this exploration stage, please express an interest by e-mail to EUCTeam@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk by Friday 2nd September.
