Independent Health Services Review

Tender description

The Isle of Man Government invites expressions of interest from independent and competent organisations to undertake specific reviews of Health Services on the Isle of Man. The Department of Health and Social Care is responsible for running the Island's National Health Service, providing a Mental Health Service, acute care at Noble's Hospital and off-Island referrals to specialist centres of excellence in the North West of England; and care in the community setting such as GP services, community nursing and health centres. The aims of the review: - To provide an assessment to the Manx public, politicians and the Isle of Man Health Services of the quality of care provided to Manx patients. - To help providers of healthcare to fulfil their duty of quality. - To help drive improvements in quality and efficiency, and to spread innovation and good practice. - To identify areas where services are in need of improvement, with special reference to any areas in which there is an unacceptable risk to patient and/or staff safety. - To comment upon the sustainability, or otherwise, of services currently provided in the Isle of Man. The Contractor will enter into an agreement to conduct two reviews (7&8) in support of completing a suite of previously undertaken reviews. The Contractor will aim to commence reviews in Winter 2016 and Spring 2017 respectfully. Review 7 Substance Misuse Services Sexual Health Services (Genito-Urinary Medicine and Contraception) Public Health (Health Improvement, Health Protection, Health Intelligence and Healthcare Public Health) Screening (Breast, Bowel, Cervical and Diabetic Retinopathy) Orthopaedics (In-patient and Out-Patient services) Chronic Pain Review 8 Acute Cardiac Conditions & Coronary Care Ambulance & Paramedic Services Allied Health Professionals (Including Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy (OT), Podiatry, Speech and Language Therapy S&LT) Noble's Hospital Pharmacy Service Other Medical Specialities (Dermatology, Endocrine, Respiratory Including sleep, Gastrointestinal, Endoscopy, Rheumatology) Clinical Haematology & Anticoagulation Care of Frail Older People Discharge Planning (TACIC) The Contractor must develop review processes that collect and utilise data from Primary, Secondary and Tertiary sources on the Isle of Man.
