Construction Project at Lisnasharragh Belfast

Tender description

The Contract is for the provision of 30 housing units comprised of 24 houses and 6 complex needs bungalows. The work includes the requirement for site development and engineering works. The contract will be for approximately 20 months from date of award and is scheduled to start by the end of March 2017. It is expected that all units built under this contract will achieve ‘Secured By Design’ , ‘Lifetime Homes’ and ‘Code for Sustainable Homes’ accreditation. The scope of the Lisnasharragh, Belfast project is the delivery of 30 housing units; the scale of the Lisnasharragh, Belfast project is approx. £3.2m and the complexity of the Lisnasharragh, Belfast project includes the construction of 12 no. 3p/2b general needs houses, 12 no. 5p/3b general needs houses and 6no.complex needs bungalows. The project includes provision of engineering services and external and site development works which achieve Secured by Design, Lifetime Homes, Code for Sustainable Homes standards. General Site Description: The site is located in close proximity to the Knock Dual Carriageway, a main arterial route with ease of access to public transport. There is on-street parking along Tudor Drive, Stirling Avenue and Merok Park. The site is irregular in shape and comprises the lands on which the former Lisnasharragh High School was located. The buildings have all been demolished and the hardcore spread across the hard surfaced areas Lisnahsarragh Primary School is located immediately east of and adjoining the site. Residential development is situated beyond the northern, western and eastern boundaries of the site and is almost exclusively characterised by two storey semi-detached dwellings with in-curtilage parking.
