Tender description

High Peak Borough Council is seeking a main building contractor or contractors to complete the design and execute the construction works. The project consists of erection of a contractor designed access, structural support and sheeted encapsulation scaffolding structure, the restoration and conservation of the Octagon building as shown and described in the tender documents. The main focus of the works includes the structural strengthening/replacement of the existing structural eaves beam components together with works to the structures below the Octagon floor. Works also include joinery and glazing repairs to external fenestration and eaves boarding, re-roofing the lower pitched roofs (but not the dome), replacement drainage and new finishes and decoration, mechanical and electrical installations to the Octagon Hall, reception, bar, stores and kitchen areas etc as indicated in the tender documents. The contractor must have experience in managing sub-contractors of a specialist nature and be familiar with working on listed buildings. Works are expected to start towards the end of 2016, and final completion around January 2018. Applicants wishing to be considered for the tender list must request, via email only, an electronic copy of the Invitation to Tender from the contact given in 1.1, which must be returned no later than the time given in IV.3.4.
