Tender description

UK Shared Business Services Ltd as the Contracting Authority is putting in place a Contract for the supply and replacement of the main controllers, implementation of new hardware and other constituent parts of the Winch system on the RRS James Cook. The new hardware will necessitate the writing of new control software, this will no doubt impact upon software running on the associated sub-systems. It is possible that further hardware will also need to be replaced as a result of this. There are no backup or uploadable programs, listings or documentation available for any of the micro processor-based equipment in the system.
