1. Introduction Northern Ireland Electricity Networks Limited (NIE Networks) is the owner of the transmission network, owner and operator of the distribution system and provider of electricity market registration and data services in Northern Ireland (NI). NIE Networks provides a range of customer services to almost 860,000 commercial and domestic electricity customers in NI. Our services include customer connections, incorporating generation and renewable connections, a range of metering services and on a daily basis we provide a full fault and emergency response service and programmed outage management. Our on-going operations include the planning, development, construction and maintenance of the network and other major projects. Northern Ireland Electricity Networks Limited is part of the ESB Group of companies. 1.1 Background to Requirement NIE Networks owns a wide range of air conditioning plant and controls along with a number of gas boilers across various premises within Northern Ireland. To ensure continuous efficient operation of this equipment, it is necessary to carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM). In addition, NIE Networks also require a Reactive Maintenance Response (RMR) response to attend to unscheduled faults and urgent repairs. 1.2 Duration of Contract This contract will be awarded for a period of 3 years, subject to annual review, with an option to extend for up to a further 2 years. The option to extend will be entirely at the discretion of NIE Networks. The anticipated start date of this contract is 1st December 2016.
