Mobile units on trailers

Tender description

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking to appoint a Single Supplier Framework for the Supply and Delivery of re-locatable mobile teaching units that can easily and quickly be transported and relocated by the Council's Fleet Services to assist any South Lanarkshire school experiencing short term pupil pressure. The Output Specification includes but is not limited to: Creation of an educationally attractive learning environment that is adaptable, flexible and innovative and which inspires young people to learn and develop. Capable of being delivered to site by an HGV — the classroom is expected to form part of an articulated trailer meeting full EU and UK requirements. Retractable wings to allow the facility to meet the minimum space requirements for a classroom. Capable of linking to the main school building electric supply. Optimising natural ventilation and minimising mechanical and electrical ventilation requirements. A classroom specification that adheres to the Room Data Sheets and ICT Data sheets for South Lanarkshire Schools. A Concept Plan (attachment 9) is included in the Supplier attachment area. South Lanarkshire Council have secured funding for 2 Mobile Teaching Units which will be awarded to the successful Bidder on appointment to the framework. The units are required to be delivered to sites (as yet to be identified) during March 2017. It is possible that up to a further 4 additional units may be procured during the lifetime of the Framework but this is subject to the success of the project, future demand and availability of funding and should not be taken as a guarantee of future work.
