Tender description

The Authority has undertaken a pilot programme with the seven district councils across North Yorkshire for individuals aged 18 and over with a body mass index (BMI) of equal to or greater than 25. Following an academic evaluation of the pilot the Authority wishes to implement a new service. The service will be designed and delivered based on current NICE Guidance PH 53:12 week group based service that includes diet, physical activity and behaviour change strategies. All components of the service will be delivered as a group and not self-led. The service will be available to individuals aged 18 and over, with a BMI of 25 or above without obesity related co-morbidities or have managed co-morbidities, who live or work in North Yorkshire. Referrals will be taken from all health and social care professionals, wider stakeholder organisations and self-referral. Referrals will be managed via a central access hub and triaged accordingly. The Authority can not confirm at this time if this Service will be divided into Lots. The Authority is evaluating market engagement responses.
