Survey and Monitoring of priority Lichens in S W England - This Contract primarily involves specialist field work surveying rare and inconspicuous lichen species. It also entails assessments of habitat condition and habitat management, and desk analyses of species records. Surveys results will need to be presented in a series of written reports including digital images and biological records. The work comprises a series of separate surveys across SW England, as follows: i. Savernake Forest baseline veteran tree survey prior to reinstatement of woodland grazing. ii. Lobarion lichen survey of Fuscopannaria sampaiana and Parmeliella testacea at known sites. iii. Bryoria smithii monitoring and review of Black Tor Copse population. iv. Review of the status and current management for The Lizard lichens: Caloplaca aractina, Cladonia mediterranea, Collema latzelii, Heterodermia speciosa, H. leucomela, Parmotrema robustum and Solenopsora liparina.
