Tender description

English Heritage Trust's warehousing operation consists of the physical receipt, storage and despatch of goods to properties throughout England and other customers. Additional services required are, e-commerce, wholesale distribution, account management, stock control & stocktaking, collation of marketing material. There are up to 6,000 products including books, food, jewellery, leaflets etc managed by two main departments Retail (prime user of contract) and Marketing. The majority of products are received in multiple quantities and distributed singly. Consequently most stock is broken down into retail units on receipt and subsequently managed as singles. Goods are supplied to the contractor's premises from approximately 600 different suppliers, national and international, which are distributed by the contractor direct to approximately 140 locations in smaller units. There is also an e-commerce operation which processes up to 100 orders a day for delivery worldwide. The contract will be for an initial 7 year period with an option to extend for a further 3 years.
