Summary of the work The Met Office have a requirement for a Security Assurance Coordinator, (SAC), for their new MetSIS Programme of work. The role is to provide Security Assurance across a range of defence-related projects in the Met Office. What Specialists Work On The Met Office have a requirement for a Security Assurance Coordinator, (SAC), for their new MetSIS Programme of work. The role is to provide Security Assurance across a range of defence-related projects in the Met Office. The primary work is to write and co-ordinate the assembly of the MetSIS System RMADS as well as liaising with DAIS Accreditors across government and liaison with third-party suppliers to ensure security compliance. Skills & Experience • Have current and comprehensive familiarity with JSP440 • Have current and comprehensive familiarity with JSP604 • Have current and comprehensive familiarity with DCPP • Have recent experience of writing RMADS to satisfy requirements as specified in JSP440 & JSP604 and any other relevant Government publication • Hold Developed Vetting security clearance valid until at least 31/03/2017 • Have recent/current experience of working with and being able to liaise with many DAIS Accreditors across government • Have recent/current experience of working with and being able to liaise with a number of 3rd party hardware and software suppliers from Government approved procurement channels up to List-X Work Location Met Office HQ, Exeter, Devon. Working Arrangments Onsite 1 day per week (flexibilty on this is preferred) with potential for limited off-site working as appropriate. Travel and Expenses to be limited to the Met Office policy (available on request). Security Clearance Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance valid until at least 31/03/2017. Can you confirm that the role is limited to 1 day per week? We anticipate the overall requirement to equate to one day per week. Ideally, some flexibility would be provided (for example, 2 days one week, 0 the next) from potential suppliers. 2. Can you confirm if there is a current incumbent carrying out this role? No. There is no incumbent as this is a new role for the Met Office. 3. Please provide a guide on Daily rate. These roles are highly skilled and have a higher daily rate associated with them. We understand that these are highly specialist roles but as this is a new role to the Met Office, we do not have a guide.Obviously, as with all procurements we seek to obtain the best value for the role. 4. We have a consultant with the appropriate skills, however they are not currently DV cleared. Would Met Office be able to sponsor clearance and provide exception whilst the consultant goes through the process? Clearance needs to be in place by the time the work is due to commence, therefore the Met Office could sponsor this but typically this type of clearance would not be in place in time for the start date of September. 5. PART 1 of 2: May I see the travel and expenses policy please? Specifically relating to travel to the main site? Or would you prefer the expenses to make the consultant available on site to be included in the day rate? 1. Travel1.1 Economy class air and standard class rail travel is allowed.1.2 Individuals may use their own cars for journeys on official business. They must carry insurance for business travel.1.3 Taxi fares are allowed when their use is unavoidable and no convenient alternative means of travel is available; these should be supported by receipts wherever possible.2. Claims relating to travel2.1 The Individual will be reimbursed for the costs of rail, air and car hire on production of receipted actuals.2.2 Mileage in the Individual’s own vehicle is paid at the rate of 28.5p per mile. 6. PART 2 of 2: May I see the travel and expenses policy please? Specifically relating to travel to the main site? Subsistence3.1 The Company may claim the receipted actual cost of bed and breakfast accommodation.Note: accommodation in hotels up to and including 3 * rating is allowed3.2 However where, in support of the requirement, the Company incurs expenditure in excess of the daily allowance such expenses may be reimbursed. Any claim must be supported by receipts and a fully detailed explanation as to why such expenses were necessary. Payment will only be made if the designated officer is satisfied that the expense was necessarily incurred.
