Provision of EGIS Defender Support Contract

Tender description

The Centre for Applied Science and Technology (CAST) required a sole supplier to provide a fixed term contract for the Provision of an EGIS Defender Support Contract. CAST previously purchased two (2) EGIS Defender Explosive Detection Systems in order to support police counter terrorism operations. In order to maintain the two (2) EGIS Defender Explosive Detection Systems in operating condition, a support contract was required. If a service/support agreement was not put in place, then eventually the EGIS machines would no longer function. This would mean the police are unable to search for explosive devices, which may lead to the loss of life and property. The support is to cover the period 1st April 2016 until 31st March 2017.
