Provision of Ecological Baseline Data for the main settlements of County Cork

Cork County Council is in the process of compiling baseline environmental data which will inform the development of eight Local Area Plans for each of the Municipal Districts of the county. As part of this process Cork County Council wishes to prepare baseline Ecological Reports for the towns in each Municipal District where population growth is planned. The purpose of the work is to establish the baseline ecological conditions within each of the towns and make recommendations regarding the future management of the ecological resource. The data will help to inform the development of policy for these settlements, and will be used to assist with the completion of Strategic Environmental Assessment and Appropriate Assessment for the Local Area Plans. Cork County Council wishes to appoint a suitably qualified consultant to undertake the ecological survey, data compilation and habitat mapping and the preparation of an Ecological Report for each town.
