Tender description

Extra care housing is sometimes known as very sheltered housing, assisted living, retirement housing, or simply as housing with care. Extra Care Housing (ECH) is a concept rather than housing type that covers a range of specialist housing models. The ECH umbrella term is used to describe developments that comprise of self-contained home with design features and support services available to enable self-care and independent living. Extra Care Housing is popular with people whose disabilities, frailty, vulnerable or health needs make ordinary housing unsuitable. Although older people make up the majority of tenants of ECH, people with disabilities are increasing making use of this type of housing. Residents will maintain a tenancy with the housing provider and also receive onsite care from a care provider, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including public holidays. The London Borough of Hounslow invites tenders for the provision of Extra Care Housing Care and Support Services. The tender relates to the care and support element only and is split into 3 Lots. Lot 1 — Bridge Wharf House; Lot 2 — Greenrod House; Lot 3 — Park Lodge House. Please note Lot 1, Bridge Wharf House, is currently under construction and is estimated to be ready for occupation in January 2017.
