Expression of interest: Development of an offer to support perpetrators of domestic abuse

The Safer Communities Team at Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council are examining possibilities for a new approach towards challenging and supporting perpetrators of domestic abuse (aged 16+). The desired intervention should be no longer than 45 hrs delivery time per participant, and any service provider should have a proven track record for achieving results. The following topics should be included during the course: Emotional Management, Gender roles, Conflict resolution, Taking responsibility, Problem Solving (including seeking further support) However please note that this list is not exhaustive. The intervention should adequately and repeatedly challenge behaviours conducive with all forms of domestic abuse and promote respectful relationships. Organisations should have the ability to deliver the programme to approximately 40 individuals between November 2016 and 20th March 2017. Courses should be run at suitable times for those in and outside of employment or education. Providers would need to be able to supply a mid-way report and closing report detailing progress made by participants. Providers should examine the possibility of group work as well as individual one to one sessions and be prepared to evidence why different approaches may be beneficial to the individual. Premises associated with delivery should be fully accessible, non-discriminatory and safe. Providers should be willing and set up to deal with a range of complex needs and have ability to signpost and manage suitable referrals.
