Tender description

Provision of advice and support on waste prevention opportunities for the construction and food and drink sectors. A total of 4 Lots are offered. Provision of in-depth support packages to a minimum of 10 bakery business in Scotland, in order to identify opportunities to prevent food waste, identify food waste hotspots within the sector, and implement innovative technology solutions. This will include delivery of in-depth audits and implementation support, as well as development of good practice guidance documents and a sector report for feedback to the industry. The service is proposed for a 6 month period only, concluding in March 2017. Provision of in-depth support to at least five (5) SME breweries to identify key hotspots in the sector to prevent food and drink waste, thereby streamlining the efficiency of the manufacturing process and providing improved cost margins for the manufacturer. This will be delivered through in-depth audits and implementation support, as well as the development of good practice guidance documents and a sector report for feedback to the industry. The project will run to end of March 2017. Provision of a service of advice and support free to SMEs operating within the Scottish construction and demolition sectors. The service will identify opportunities to realise waste reduction on construction and demolition sites, prepare business cases for the implementation of material efficiencies, waste reduction measures and innovative approaches to re-use and recycling. The service will be available to the end of March 2018, although continuation beyond March 2017 is subject to continued funding and satisfactory performance. Provision of a free advice and support service for SMEs operating in the Scottish food and drink sector. The service will offer 1-to-1 consultancy and training support to help eligible businesses identify food and drink waste prevention opportunities and implement recommended equipment and processes to realise waste savings. This may be through delivery of food waste audits, implementation support, training and the development of case studies and other good practice guidance documents. The service will operate for a period to end March 2018, although continuation beyond March 2017 is subject to continued funding and satisfactory performance.
