Childcare and Early Years Survey of Parents 2017

Expressions of interest are sought for conducting the Childcare and Early Years Survey of Parents 2017. The Childcare and Early Years Survey of Parents is a major Department for Education (DfE) funded cross-sectional survey series that provides salient, up-to-date information on parents’ use of childcare and early years provision, as well as their attitudes towards, and experiences of, local childcare. Currently, the data are collected through face-to-face in-home interviews with over 6,000 parents of children aged between 0 and 14 years old living in England. The survey aims to provide information to help monitor the progress of policies in the area of childcare and early years education by: • providing salient, up-to-date information on the use of childcare and early years provision, as well as attitudes towards, and experiences of, local childcare amongst parents with children aged 0-14; • continuing the time series – which has now been running for over ten years – to provide accurate and timely analysis of the data on issues covered, in order to assess the ongoing impact of policy interventions on children and parents throughout the survey series.
