Tender description

Powys County Council's Street Lighting department is responsible for the installation and maintenance of street lighting and illuminated signs within the county of Powys, Mid Wales. There are around 15 000 lanterns on county roads and in residential areas within Powys with c. 2 300 currently not in use/‘switched off’, c. 6 700 converted to LED lanterns, c. 5 300 SON/SOX lanterns and the balance being a mix of heritage style lanterns and other types. All operational lanterns either operate part night or all night. Converting the remaining stock of SON/SOX lanterns to LED lanterns will allow the Council to future proof the current street lighting stock and will aid with reduction in the energy expenditure and maintenance costs. The remaining stock of SON/SOX lanterns are primarily located on street lighting columns, however, some are located on wall mounted brackets of various heights and construction. Tender for the supply and installation of c. 5 500 LED lanterns, replacing existing SON/SOX lanterns, on county roads and residential areas, which are primarily located on street lighting columns with some located on wall mounted brackets of various heights and construction. The service is to be delivered within Powys, Mid Wales.
