Tender description

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale uLHB who are seeking to establish a Framework for an Open MRI Scanning Service. Open MRI scans are performed on patients who are unable to be scanned in a closed tunnel MRI scanner for medical reasons such as obesity and Claustrophobia. The Cardiff and Vale University Health Local Board (LHB) currently outsource all of it's Open Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Scans due to the unavailability of resource, equipment or Capital investment. The LHB is looking to appoint a suitable contractor to establish a Framework for the duration as described below. The approximate patient numbers at present is 175 per annum. The contractor to carrying out scans on behalf of the LHB must be Royal College of Radiology(or equivalent) and a UK Accredited Consultant.
