Machinery for the heat treatment of materials

Tender description

Supply to the University of Sheffield's Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre's Castings Group at Catcliffe, Rotherham as follows: A heat treatment facility that is capable of heat treating both Aluminum and Magnesium alloys to Aerospace and Nadcap quality requirements. The facility shall consist of at least 2 furnaces. The first (Solution furnace) shall be a drop-bottom furnace capable of operating between RT — 560°C as a minimum and shall be fully complete with the ability to quench from the furnace into hot or cold water, polymer or oil quench; there shall be a rinsing facility for cleaning of castings between cycles and the second furnace (Aging Furnace) shall be capable of treating castings within the temperature range RT — 560°C as a minimum. This process is notice of a potential procurement exercise for a heat treatment facility. This is not a commitment to purchase and the University of Sheffield does not require a response to this Prior Information Notice. The anticipated date of publication of a contact notice is week commencing 12.9.2016.
