Fire station construction work

Tender description

The Kent and Medway Towns Fire Authority (KMTFA) is seeking to appoint a Contractor for the construction of a new Fire Station and Training Facility at Ramsgate in Kent as detailed below. The existing structures/buildings on the site will be demolished in August/September 2016, ahead of the construction phase of the development. The demolition will include the removal of all existing structures on the site, the infill of the swimming pool, the decommissioning of all remaining plant and equipment and the removal and backfill of existing soakaways and building foundations. The car park hard-standing will remain and its utilisation/removal will be incorporated into the main construction package. The development site covers an area of approximately 0,57ha. It is proposed to redevelop the site as a fire station and training facility. The main building will be located in the south-central part of the site and will comprise a 2-storey fire station block consisting of offices and welfare facilities and a 2-storey block consisting of training rooms and associated facilities.
