Littering, spitting, dog fouling and other antisocial behaviour affect the quality of the local environment and have an adverse impact on how places look and are perceived. These activities also adversely influence how attractive the local area is to residents, workers, visitors and investors such as businesses and their trade. In order to ensure that the environment is kept clean and safe the Council has undertaken a nine month pilot to minimise and tackle enviro-crime. The Council is now looking to undertake a procurement process in due course, with an anticipated contract start date for late 2016.
