Tender description

The University of Edinburgh wishes to appoint a Design Team for the relocation of a School — Health in Social Science (HiSS) from the Old Medical Quad to Holyrood Campus as well as the repurposing of vacant space at the Old Medical School. This project will not be divided into lots as we require the same provider to undertake the whole project for continuity reasons. We will apply a two-stage Restricted Procedure. Bidders must self-certify adherence to selection criteria via the ESPD (Scotland) on PCS-T. Suppliers may be required to submit Means of Proof at a later stage via PCS-T. Minimum standards and shortlisting requirements are detailed in Sections III and VI of this Notice. Following assessment of submitted ESPDs, we will receive tenders from shortlisted bidders. The University of Edinburgh wishes to appoint a Design Team for the relocation of a School — Health in Social Science (HiSS) from the Old Medical Quad to Holyrood Campus as well as the repurposing of vacant space at the Old Medical School. The design team is to provide a full traditional service from inception to completion for all phases of the project across both sites. The project has a total overall value of 4 500 000 GBP. The scope of work extends to the refurbishment of staff, student and teaching spaces throughout the Holyrood campus and the Old Medical School to ensure the spaces are fit for purpose in terms of design, access, mechanical and electrical including IT requirements. The works will take place on a phased basis with a number of associated decants and moves being required to facilitate these sequential phases. The contract will run from January 2017 for 2 and a half years until completion in summer 2019 when all phases should be complete.
