Tender description

In January 2017 the Council will be moving to new purpose built premises called the ‘Forum’. The Council’s vision for the ‘Forum’ is to move to a paperless environment which will also allow us to have a digital approach in the way we work. Back in the early 2000’s the Council’s Planning and Development Group transferred all its planning and enforcement documents to microfiche in order to reduce paper storage. All in all the Council moved over 160,000 files (some multiple pages and a mixture of A4 and plans). These will currently have no time limit on retention. Due to the lack of storage the Council are looking for a suitable company to digitalise the microfiche files as well as destroying the files in line with the Council’s Disposal of Confidential Waste Policy.
