Tender description

The University of Southampton is awarding a contract to provide all designated sites access to modern cashless launderette facilities 365 days a year. This contract will provide a significant enhancement to current arrangements in terms of both facilities and equipment at 16 different locations across Southampton and 1 in Winchester, Hampshire. The contract involves a complete refurbishment of all of the existing laundrette facilities, including complete decoration, new shop fitting and boxing in, new vinyl flooring, shelving, noticeboards (as space allows), comfortable seating which conforms to the relevant British Standards (as space allows) and new machines (washers and dryers). The contract will begin on the 31.7.2016. The University of Southampton will be contracting on a commission basis, depending on the quantity and the usage of the machines. This concession contract has been conducted voluntarily (under threshold) in accordance with the Open Procedure of The Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The contract was awarded using the most economically advantageous offers in terms of the evaluation criteria listed below: Qualitative Response — 60 %. Commercial Response — 40 %.
