Tender description

The Council is seeking to commission a Parent and Community Support Service to deliver support, advice, guidance, training and practical tools to community groups, schools and voluntary/community groups who wish to become actively involved in running existing children’s centre provision for families with young children and developing further provision in line with the community needs and aspirations. The Provider will be required to achieve specific outcomes and target specific groups to enable them to take on a greater role in their communities and fully exploit volunteering opportunities. The service must take account Gloucestershire’s wide and diverse range of communities and community organisations and provide plans showing how the provider will interact with this diverse range of communities. The Provider will deliver support, training and signposting to local groups, families, schools and voluntary organisations to enable them to take on more active and meaningful roles in developing, managing and delivering local community provision. The provider will ensure that individuals are supported to develop their skills and are able to positively contribute to building local capacity which ensures that current and future community activities identified by the community are sustainable.
