Tender description

Wealden District Council is seeking to commission consultants to undertake a dark night sky assessment for the District. The purpose of the assessment is to assist the Council in meeting the requirements of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and associated guidance with regards to reducing light pollution in its plan making and where relevant in making planning decisions. The provision of an up-to-date assessment of the darkness of the night sky within Wealden will also enable the production of planning guidance and policy on exterior lighting through a potential Supplementary Planning Document should this be required.
