Tender description

Testing of coated and uncoated roadstone materials required for compliance with set specifications. Both Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City Councils either undertake or have civil Engineering Works undertaken on their behalf. Aberdeenshire Council operate 3 hard rock quarries, each with the ability to produce coated materials. The 3 quarries undertake a Quality Management Scheme in accordance with UKAS Sector Scheme Document 14 (‘Sector Scheme 14’). This requires a level of sampling and testing at the quarries. Where works are undertaken on site there will be a requirement to carry out material testing. This will require site and quarry attendance, taking of samples and carrying out testing in accordance with the specification laid down in appendix A. Samples may also be delivered to the laboratory for testing. Responses are sought only from Bidders capable of providing the Services meeting the requirements of the Authorities outlined in this ITT.
