Tender description

The Marine Institute wishes to invite Applicants to submit a tender under an Open Procedure with the objective of putting a Single Supplier Framework Agreement in place for the design, manufacture and supply of Cables and Connector Units for the Galway Bay Marine and Renewable Energy Test Site for a period of 2 years (2016-2018). 1 unit of cables and connector to be delivered by end of August 2016, with additional unit(s) dependant on available funding. The Marine Institute is seeking design, manufacture and supply services from suitably qualified organisations to provide the following: a) Manufacturing services for underwater integrated power and communication cables, both ‘static’ and ‘dynamic’ cables will be required. Technical specification of cables is included in Annex 4. b) Design and manufacture services for an underwater ‘junction box’ connector to be located on the seabed between the static and the dynamic cables. c) Supply of the above-mentioned cables conformant to the approved design in a); d) Supply of the junction box conformant to the design in b). The afore-mentioned cables and junction box (comprising 1 unit) will be used to connect between the Cable End Equipment (CEE) and surface or subsurface Ocean Energy Conversion (OEC) devices within the confines of the Galway Bay Marine and Renewable Energy Test Site. The Marine Institute will require the manufacture and delivery of a number of UNITs as part of this tender.
