Aims To provide NOC with a focused and proactive Health and Wellbeing service which will benefit staff and managers, and reduce absenteeism for the group of employees whose sickness absence is high. The Provision of occupational health services will be provided to all NERC staff based at the two National Oceanography Centres sites. Our aim is to build a framework where staff, managers and occupational health work together proactively for the benefit of all employees to help create a healthy workplace environment; prevent avoidable work related sickness absence; and support staff who are absent through illness or injury to achieve a successful return to work. We place a strong emphasis with a key focus on providing staff a focused proactive Health and Wellbeing Service. Objectives To provide NOC with a service that: • proactively benefits employees by creating a healthy workplace environment • prevent avoidable work related sickness absence • support employees who are absent through illness or injury to achieve a successful return to work • administer and deliver a health monitoring programme for employees at greater risk of workplace injuries • administer and deliver ENG1 medicals to MCA standard • administer and deliver vaccinations to specific groups of employees • provide proactive Health & Wellbeing service • conduct pre-employment health screening • conduct telephone consultations with employees on 1st day of sickness absence (pilot and specific group of employees) • report on services undertaken and key performance indicators
