Market engagement event for an Enablement Centre Service

London Borough of Lambeth Market engagement event for an Enablement Centre Service. Transforming Care: A national response to Winterbourne View Hospital: Department of Health Review Final Report, DH (2012), states that people with learning disabilities or autism who also have behaviour that is challenging should only go into hospital if hospital care is genuinely the best option, and only stay in hospital for as long as it remains the best option. In line with these recommendations Lambeth Council and NHS Lambeth Clinical Commissioning Group are planning to develop new accommodation based services in borough for a number of people with Autism Spectrum Condition and /or Learning Disabilities and Challenging Behaviour. We will be holding an event for service providers on the 10th of February 2016 in Lambeth where we will share our current thinking and invite comments. We are particularly interested in meeting with providers who have a track record of delivering services for this group of people in community settings.
