Litter Picking Contract

Tender description

SCDC is looking for a suitably experienced company to provide litter picking services to the Council throughout SCDC’s district. The initial schedule of work must be completed by the 31/03/2016 and is in a contract range of (£55 to £60k) and shall include: o A14 Fenstanton (junction 27) to Stow-cum-Quy both sides = 43.5km 27 miles o A1303 From Marshalls to Bottisham both sides = 13km 8 miles o A1198 Royston roundabout to Papworth Everard both sides = 47.25km 29.4 miles o A11 6 mile Bottom to Stumps Cross both sides = 34.5 km 21.4 miles o A428 Caxton to A14/M11 junction both sides = 34.5km 21.4 miles o A1307 A11 to Hinton Way roundabout both sides = 12 km 7.5 miles o A10 Amey roundabout to Milton roundabout both sides = 14.5 km 9 miles SCDC may choose to undertake further works at its discretion. The programme for any extended works will be agreed with the successful contractor. Due to the nature of the contract/value no guaranteed volume/value can be given by SCDC. Bidders will price this contract on the basis of 1 verge at the side of the road. Prices will be a per kilometre of road. Please note that the price per kilometre is irrespective of the width or density of the verge. Worked example: 1 side of the A14 as above will be charged at 27 miles x price per km. Both sides of the carriage way will be charged at 54 miles x price per km. Regular contact with SCDC’s contract manager will be required throughout the contract, which may take the form of telephone, face to face or email. SCDC will need named contacts with the successful organisation and an escalation route. The contract is for 1 year term with the option for SCDC to extend each and every year for a further 2 years (at SCDC’s discretion) providing the value of the contract is below the EU threshold (currently £163k).
