Welfare services for children and young people

Tender description

In accordance with Section 25(2) of the Children (Scotland) Act 1995 and the Looked After Children (Scotland) Regulations 2009 Glasgow City Council (GCC) must provide access to appropriate and adequate accommodation and support for a Child or Young Person (CYP) in order to safeguard and promote his/her welfare. CYP can be looked after in a variety of alternative placements, including foster care, that meet the assessed needs of the child. In accordance with procurement requirements to re-tender Foster Care Services, GCC will seek to implement a new Framework Agreement that seeks to consolidate all purchased Foster Care placements, and streamline the complex financial arrangements that currently exist. Accordingly we will seek to roll up all current and new contracted places within our designated service categories for existing purchased placements where providers are awarded a place in this framework.
