Tender description

The council is seeking a reputable and experienced market operator to take over the management of part of Berwick Street Market (up to 26 pitches). The permanent traders will remain on the market and they will be managed by the council in accordance with the terms of their Licence and the Westminster Act (street trading legislation). The successful operator will be required to collaborate and work closely with the permanent traders to ensure the benefits are reaped by all traders. The operator's responsibilities for the part of the market it will be managing are as follows: — To curate that part of the market in accordance with the agreed vision, — To manage the day to day running of that part of the market, providing support and advice to relevant traders, — To promote the market, — To ensure that relevant traders comply with all of the relevant environmental health and health and safety legislation. The market is currently open 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday) with all stalls required to be open between 10:00 and 16:00.
