Reception, Boarding and Return of Stray Dogs

Tender description

Herefordshire Council has a statutory responsibility for ensuring its Stray dog functions are discharged correctly by virtue of Section 149(2) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and this contract will delegate those functions for the Reception, Kennelling and Return of Stray dogs. The Council deals with approximately 300 stray dogs each year (average over last 2 years) This contract is to provide the following 1) Reception and Kennelling of stray dogs until either returned to owner ,transfer to rehoming facility or destruction 2) Where a stray dog is returned to its owner, the collection and banking on behalf of Herefordshire council of monies paid by the owner. 3) Completion of all necessary paperwork to provide an audit trail in respect of the above. The kennelling of stray dogs does not require the same regulation as that of boarding dogs. However, as best practice, Herefordshire Council requires that any successful applicant will meet the same set of conditions as those required for the licensing of boarding dogs.
