Tender description

Supply marine monitoring services to Defra network to enable it to monitor and report upon the condition of the features of its Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) to meet the requirements of the European Habitats Directive, Marine Conservation Zones and the Habitats and Birds Directive. There are 5 services/Lots: Lot Habitat: 1. Intertidal Rock and Sediment — technical specification covering Littoral Rock and Sediment survey, analysis and reporting, principally for Reef, Submerged or partially submerged sea caves and Mudflats and Sand-flats not covered by seawater at low tide habitats; 2. Lagoon Survey and Reporting; 3. The interpretation of remote sensing and ground truthing data, including mapping and reporting of sub-tidal habitats; 4. Drop-down and towed video/photographic survey, analysis and reporting, principally for reef habitat; 5. Divers — in situ diver survey, including transect surveys, quadrat recording, sub-tidal core sampling, biotope surveys, abundance counts, diver video and photography, drop-down video where the principle aim is to support the dive survey and analysis and reporting.
