Tender description
The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust are seeking a partner who can provide a full service for a total bed management and pressure area care solution for the new Royal hospital. Construction is well under way and the ‘New Royal’ is due to open September 2017. It is expected the new contract will be awarded initially for a period of 7 years with the option to extend for a further 3 years maximum. The new Royal hospital will have: 646 beds, including a 40-bed Intensive Therapy Unit. 18 state-of-the-art theatres. 23 wards and units, including a large clinical research facility. The Royal will provide every patient with a single bedroom with en-suite facilities. We believe that modern healthcare is as much about privacy, comfort and dignity as it is about pioneering treatments and cutting-edge technology. We will also have a comprehensive cancer centre on site working in collaboration with Clatterbridge comprehensive cancer centre, meaning that patients who live in Liverpool will have a world-class service closer to home. The overall aim of this service is to provide the most appropriate bed and mattress for each patient that aids rest and recovery and meets their clinical needs. Improvement in terms of efficiency, quality and sustainability to enable the Trust to meet the changing needs of the patient population, deliver financial and resource efficiencies, and reduce the Trusts environmental and carbon impact. The NHS are facing an increasingly complex and costly situation of providing care for a changing demographic including an aging population and an increasing number of bariatric patients.
