Tender description
This is a notice for social and specific services in accordance with Directive 2014/24/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council Article 74 (and therefore, this procedure is being undertaken in accordance with the ‘light touch regime’ set out therein). Umbrella, the largest and most integrated sexual health service in the world, is the provider of sexual health services in Birmingham and Solihull. Umbrella is a partnership, led by University Hospitals Birmingham, consisting of a number of community-based organisations, charities and health service providers, with the aim of improving the sexual health and well-being of the people of Birmingham and Solihull. Through establishing an extensive network of primary care facilities in Birmingham only, Umbrella will radically transform where care is accessed to ensure sexual health services are widely available. With this aim UHB is seeking to appoint over 300 pharmacies to offer the ability to: — Dispense medications for the treatment of STIs; — Provide oral contraception and condom distribution plus EHC; — Provide screening and testing services; — Offer Hepatitis B vaccinations (follow-up doses); — Provide emergency hormonal contraception. Once the DPS is established, the Authority will run a competitive tendering exercise (Tender Round) whenever it wants to award a Call-Off Contract under the DPS. Any Call-Off Contracts awarded as a result of Tender Round 1 will commence on 5.12.2016 and will expire on 31.8.2020 (unless terminated in accordance with the contract or unless further extended up to a maximum of 2 years).
