Existing Window Repair and Installation of Secondary Glazing.

THE proposed works involve works to a protected structure, Pobalscoil Inbhear Sceine, RPS No. 2140100. The repair of existing single glazed steel windows including the replacement of recently installed pvc stay and fastener elements with cast iron replicas of the originals to Conservation Architects approval. Some window fasteners and stays are missing and need to be installed also. The contractor should note all hinges to existing steel windows are to be replaced with high grade stainless steel with a pin of a compatible material. The proposed works also includes the installation of secondary glazing. This system is to comprise of 40mm aluminium framed single glazed secondary glazing system. Single panels will be hinged while all other panels to be sliding units.The openable section is to be a slim, unobtrusive secondary unit, with smooth sliding action.All panels lift out for access to primary window for cleaning and maintenance, All windows will be sealed in place, each window will be screwed to existing dry-lining wall on each side for security, with 2 to 4 screws maximum per window depending on size.
