Tender description
Birmingham City Council, in partnership with Bromsgrove District Council, Worcestershire County Council prepared the Longbridge Area Action Plan (LAAP) to secure the comprehensive regeneration of the Longbridge area following closure of the MG Rover plant in 2005.The LAAP was adopted in April 2009 and is both a policy and implementation tool that sets out aims and objectives for Longbridge development. Supporting Healthy living and sports development is 1 of the community infrastructure improvements identified through various baseline studies and consultation, and identified under the AAP Sustainability Strategy (S2) and Table 2 of the LAAP. Funding from the Longbridge Infrastructure Tariff (LIT) has been identified to put towards innovative and partnership-led health outreach services and facilities to support healthy living initiatives with local residents and employers within both Birmingham and North Worcestershire Primary Care Trust areas and support for active living and commuting projects as well as sports development programmes connected with Cofton Park. Birmingham City Council invites organisations (consortia bids are welcome) to improve the health and well-being of residents in the wider Longbridge area, predominantly Longbridge Ward, Northfield Ward in the Northfield District, Birmingham and Bromsgrove Wards; Rubery South, Rubery North and Cofton. Award will be from November 2016 for a period of 3 years.
