Tender description

It is proposed that a provision is put in place to deliver a service that includes the required social, welfare and family aspects of the Cymorth TB programme through mentoring, enabling and advocacy. This strand will be titled Cymorth TB Well-being and Support. The Welsh Government has developed the Cymorth TB programme over a number of years. Cymorth TB seeks to enable farmers and herd keepers who have suffered a TB breakdown and may be under cattle movement restrictions to survive as a business and to make the right decisions for themselves and their families, within the constraints of the Welsh Government TB Eradication Programme. The programme is split into 3 work-streams: 1. The Veterinary Programme; 2. The Support Programme; 3. The Partnership Programme. Work-streams 1 and 3 are being dealt with separately. As part of work-stream 2 The Support Programme, the Office of the Chief Veterinary Officer has developed a programme that will provide support, advice and signposting for individual farmers, their families and to some extent their businesses (though a separate strand considering business support is being developed in tandem with this initiative). This strand will be titled Cymorth TB Well-being and Support. Cymorth TB: Well-being and Support will enable individuals and their families to make positive decisions about the future while undergoing a TB breakdown it is not about telling farmers and herd keepers what to do or subsidising their business.
