211 - Provision of Legal Services

Tender description

Aston University wishes to enter into a collaborative framework agreement for the provision of Legal Services. The purpose and primary objective of this Tender process is therefore to establish a panel of legal advisers/providers of legal services to be appointed to advise and/or represent Aston in relation to the principle areas of University business for which it seeks external legal advice namely Construction and Property Matters, Employment and People Matters and Litigation. It is anticipated that Aston will appoint three providers who can deliver in all of the areas. It is anticipated that there will still be a need to source external legal advice and assistance outside of the panel in cases of specialist or niche advice and the in-house lawyers will continue to instruct barristers as necessary. The framework will run for three (3) years from the 19th September 2016 until the 18th September 2019 with the option to extend for a further 12 months if required. Any extension will be based on continued quality of service, value for money and Aston’ requirements.
