Supply Fitting and Servicing of Tyres

Tender description

The Council operates a fleet of approx 285 vehicles, ranging from small vans to specialist large commercial vehicles and plant. Over 200 of the fleet vehicles are now owned by the Council with the remaining vehicles on contract hire with terms that include maintenance. Vehicles are used by Waste Services, Highways Maintenance, Passenger Transport and Green Spaces, plus a number of other operational departments. The purpose of this procurement is the supply fitting and servicing of tyres on all Vehicles owned by the Council or, when appropriate, hired by the Council which includes tyres for Grounds Equipment Plant, as well as all tyre related services and repairs such as repair of punctures and support to vehicles on the road. The aim is to select one service provider to provide the full range of services needed. The Tenderers will be required to provide their pricing and commercial proposal to provide the Goods and Services for the full requirement. The Contract will be for a period of 3years from the commencement date. The Authority will be entitled at its absolute discretion to extend the Contract Period on the same terms and conditions for a further period or periods of 2years (1+1 yrs) making a total possible contract period of 5years. These Instructions to Tenderers describe the Authority’s requirements for the Goods / Services, the tendering process and the commercial terms on which the Authority will contract in due course with the successful Tenderer. These Instructions to Tenderers also set out details on the form and content of Tenders and the timetable and other administrative arrangements for the tendering process. The Service Specification sets out the Authority’s minimum requirements for the provision of the Services.
