School catering services

Tender description

The successful tenderer will be required to provide catering services at Myton School. The duration of the contract being offered is three years commencing on 1.9.2016 and concluding on 31.8.2021. The incumbent contractor has made significant improvements to the catering offer over the past few years with the introduction of further catering outlets and a separate 6th Form service which proves to be very popular. This has formed a sound basis on which to move the catering service forward to the next level. By placing the contract to competitive tender the School is looking to work in partnership with a suitably skilled and experienced catering contractor who will build on the existing standards and be proactive in providing advice and expertise. The contractor will have the opportunity to introduce further food service and retail initiatives and will also be expected to introduce an exciting new food concept for the future. The food concept that you are proposing should create an improved ambiance within the dining room and a more pleasant dining experience for both the students and staff. As part of this process, the school wishes to offer more wholesome healthy eating options within the menu and more flexible and appealing eating arrangements. Choice and value for money continue to be an important factor for both the school, the pupils and staff. The current contract generates a healthy return to the school and it is felt that with further innovation, flexibility and effective management this could be significantly improved. From a pupils and staff perspective the service must be of the highest quality with a tariff reflecting value for money. The successful contractor will be expected to involve the students in the continued development of the service moving into this new contract and take an active role at school council meetings.
