Prior Information Notice (PIN) Provision of Maxillo-facial and ENT Surgery Services

Tender description

The Head and Neck Directorate provides Outpatients and Elective Care services for Ear Nose Throat (ENT) and Maxillo-facial (Max-Fax) specialities a number of different sites in North Yorkshire. Currently there are capacity problems in both Adult ENT and Max-Fax elective care that is current delivered in York, Scarborough and Bridlington by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The purpose of this notice is a request to other interested providers who can offer this service. Scope of work/procedures: The types of ENT cases include:- • Tonsillectomy • Insertion of Grommet • Septoplasty • Nasal polypectomy • Fundoscopic Sinus surgery • Removal of foreign body – ear. • Excision of lesion soft palate • Refashioning of scar • Exploration of ear • Modified Radical Mastoidectomy • T-Tube insertion tympanic membrane The majority of cases will require General Anaesthetic The types of Maxillo–facial case include:- Dental/alveolar cases: • Surgical removal of impacted wisdom tooth • Multiple dental extractions/dental clearance • Surgical removal of tooth • Enucleation of dental cyst Skin lesions/other:- • Excision BCC ear • Excision BCC nose • Excision BCC cheek • Excision BCC Lateral Canthal area • Excision BCC Naso-labial area • Excision BCC – lower eyelid • Excision BCC - eyebrow • Excision BCC forehead Any follow up for all of above cases in both ENT and Maxillo-Facial will be provided by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
