Personal Dosemeters for Optical Radiation Measurements for Public Health England (PHE)

Tender description

Public Health England (PHE) is planning to appoint Scienterra Limited and Condor Instruments as suppliers of 2 different types of personal dosemeters in order to continue measurements and direct assessment of personal exposures to optical radiation. Those personal dosemeters are critical for the development of evidence-based advice on the impact of light on human health, particularly for children. A few types of personal dosemeters have recently been developed and tested in a number of field studies, however only those meeting the specifications (please see the attachment) can be considered. Please note that high performance multi-functional devices are not suitable in studies involving children due to weight and bulkiness, as the study of personal exposure requires data acquisition for a few months Therefore lighter dosemeters with less functionality will provide sufficient data and be more cost-effective in the studies with large number of participants.
