Tender description

The contract is for insurances with an associated self-insured Casualty Claims Handling Service and Motor Liability Claims Handling Service. The Contract will be split into 5 Lots, with a single supplier in each Lot, in order to ensure full coverage of all aspects of this requirement. The tender responses must be submitted on a net of normal commission basis and all amounts shown in pound sterling. Marsh brokerage will apply on all Lots. The contract will run between 1.10.2016 and 30.9.2019, subject to a 3 year Long Term Agreement. The LTA is the individual agreement entered into for the specific type of insurance cover. The Authority will have the power to extend the contract for a further 2 years to 30.9.2021, which will be subject to a 2 year Long Term Agreement, at the discretion of the Authority and subject to satisfactory performance. The Casualty insurance will include the following: Employer's Liability; Public/Product Liability; Contingency Hirers Liability; Libel and Slander; Official's Indemnity; Land Charges; Professional Indemnity. The tender will include the self-insured claims handling service. The contract will be to handle all casualty claims and potential claims notified on a precautionary basis, from inception to settlement, on the following basis: Employer's Liability and Public Liability claims, which occur within the relevant insurance policy period. Official's Indemnity, Professional Indemnity, Libel and Slander and Land Charges claims, which are made within the relevant insurance policy period. It is a condition of the contract that the Contractor shall agree to allowing the Authority, to develop its own claims handling capability for losses within the deductible and the insurer will support that development. Insurers will be asked to provide a quote based on different levels of excess. Comprehensive Motor Insurance: All own damage claims which fall within the self-insured retention will be dealt with by the Authority's Insurance and Risk Management Section. The tender will include the self-insured claims handling service. The contract will be to handle all motor claims where there is some liability aspect or potential claims notified on a precautionary basis, from inception to settlement. This will be for all claims which occur in the relevant policy period. It is a condition of the contract that the Contractor shall agree to allowing the Authority, to develop its own claims handling capability for losses within the deductible and the insurer will support that development. Insurers will be asked to provide a quote based on different levels of excess. The Property Insurance Policy will include the following: Material Damage: — Building and Contents: General Properties and Children and Young People's Services Properties (including Voluntary Aided, Voluntary Controlled, PFI, Foundation and Maintained County Schools); — Specified Building and Contents: General Properties and Children and Young People's Services Properties for wider perils and lower excess; — Property Owners Cover; — Court of Protection Properties and Contents. Business Interruption: — Increased Cost of Working; — Loss of rent; — Loss of Gross Revenue. Works In Progress: — General Properties — Specified Perils; — Children and Young People's Services Properties — All Risks. Contractors Plant: All Risks (Including Foster Carers All Risks); Money; Fidelity Guarantee; Computer. All claims which fall within the self-insured retention will be dealt with by the Authority's Insurance and Risk Management Section. Personal Accident/Assault: — Members; — Volunteers; — Teachers undertaking extra-curricular activities; — Pupils on Work Experience within the UK; — Motor Bike Projects. Assault: — Employees; — Foster Carers. Travel: — Employees; — Pupils on Work Experience outside the UK. School Journey and Personal Accident to Pupils whilst on School Site: — School Journey; — Pupils on School Site and Commuting. (Please note, the School Journey and Personal Accident to Pupils whilst on School Site Insurances are not due for renewal until 1.4.2017, however for direct comparison purposes, and to allow sufficient financial provision by the Authority, please provide your terms). Inspection of statutory equipment service.
