Tender description

Wakefield Council is reshaping the way in which weight management services are delivered within the district by procuring a weight management commissioning framework. It is envisaged that the procurement process for this framework will be issued during the next 12 months. At this stage, it is anticipated that the framework agreement may be split into the following lots: Lot 1. Dietetic Service; Lot 2. Psychological Service; Lot 3. Consultant in Metabolic Medicine with associated Phlebotomy; Lot 4. Physiotherapy Service; Lot 6. Community Weight Management Programme; Lot 6. Online Weight Management Programme. 1 service provider will be appointed to provide dietetic support to service users that have been triaged by the Council's Living Well Team and identified to have a requirement for dietetic services. It is envisaged that in the region of 250 service users will be referred each year into the service which involve an initial consultation and follow-up appointments. 1 service provider will be appointed to provide psychological support to service users that have been triaged by the Council's Living Well Team and identified to have a requirement for psychological services. It is envisaged that in the region of 200 service users will be referred each year into the service which involve an initial consultation and follow-up appointments. 1 service provider will be appointed to provide Metabolic Medicine with associated Phlebotomy to service users that have been triaged by the Council's Living Well Team and identified to have a requirement for this service. It is envisaged that in the region of 150 service users will be referred each year into the service which involve an initial consultation, follow-up appointments and a range of standard phlebotomy tests. 1 service provider will be appointed to deliver physiotherapy services to service users that have been triaged by the Council's Living Well Team and identified to have a requirement for physiotherapy. It is envisaged that in the region of 150 service users will be referred each year into the service which involve an initial consultation and follow-up appointments. Several service providers will be appointed to deliver a community weight management programme to service users that have been triaged by the Council's Living Well Team and identified to have a need for the service. It is envisaged that in the region of 2 000 service users will be referred each year into the service which will be for a 12 week programme of community group weight management support. Service users will have discretion to self-fund continuation of the programme after the initial programme of delivery is complete. Several service providers will be appointed to deliver an online weight management programme to service users that have been triaged by the Council's Living Well Team and identified to have a need for the service. It is envisaged that in the region of 1 000 service users will be referred each year into the service which will be for a 3 month subscription to an online weight management programme. Service users will have discretion to self fund continuation of the programme after the initial programme of delivery is complete.
